Cathodic Protection

Corrosion is a big risk especially for underwater and underground metal pipes. Many techniques were developed in order to avoid  corrosion.

Its main principles depend on the electro-chemical corrosion theory. By this method underground transmission lines, the length of which may reach up to kilometres, are protected against corrosion.

When the position can not be interfered easily (underground steal  transmission lines, wide-surfaced steal constructions, stores, sea  transportation vehicles and petrol platforms, underwater and  underground bridge legs etc.) this technique is the only alternative.

Cathodic protection requires the polarization of the metals as cathod. Polarization process both can be completed by applying outer current and by matching the metal that will be protected with a more active metal as well.

Dedem Otomasyon Cathodic Protection projects were appired on Bursagaz and Baku-Tiflis-Cehyan pipeline.
